Whispering Turbines power Miss Elam and Miss Geico to wins

Whispering Turbines, Inc. had a smokin’ weekend in racing! WTI builds the engines for both the Miss Elam Plus Race Team and the Miss Geico Offshore Race Team, and both teams won their races this last weekend.

The Miss Elam Plus took Top Qualifier at the Governor’s Cup in Madison, Indiana and went on to win every preliminary heat and the final for 2009. Also, the Miss Geico raced in Sarasota, Florida and took top honors there as well.

Tracy Bratvold headed up the engine program in Madison, while Adam Bratvold teamed up with the Miss Geico team in Florida. Both Bratvold men will be in Detroit this week for the 100th running of the Gold Cup.

Repair work to Miss Chrysler Jeep Progressing

Owner and Crew Chief Ed Cooper, Robert Grossman and Jimmy King are in the engine room preparing engines and a new gearbox. Once the propbroke, it violently shook the steel plated gearbox and rendered it useless. Pieces of the gearbox are laying outside the shop, now only scrap. Two engines were damaged in Madison, and the team is hurriedly trying to repair one for the trip to Detroit. At least two will be available for the Gold Cup, with the hopes of having one more rebuilt in time.
