Steve David: "You (Villwock) may be the fastest today, but I am still the oldest"

Dave Villwock in the U-16 Miss E-Lam Plus edged out hometown favorite Steve David, driving the U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison by .453 mph on the Ohio River during Friday's qualifying in the 59th running of the Indiana's Governor's Cup.

David, in a last minute attempt before the course closed, went out to try and trump Villwock who is back running the full season after sitting out some races in 2008."It's like going back to take another bite of the apple," David said.

The American Boat Racing Association's new qualifying format that debuted on the Madison racecourse. The new performance based qualifying allows the top qualifier to choose his lane in the first set of qualifying heats on Saturday.

"You (Villwock) may be the fastest today, but I am still the oldest, " David joked after today's events.
