Madison Regatta wristbands on sale as of June 5th

Admission wristbands for the 2009 Madison Regatta will be on sale starting Friday, June 5th at several locations in the Madison , IN area.

Admission wristbands are $20.00 when purchased in advance prior to June 29th. Or $25 after June 29th. Kids 10 and under are free. Wristbands are valid for all three days July 3, 4, and 5.

Wristbands may be purchased at the Madison Regatta office on Vaughn Drive between the hours of 9:00 am– 5:00 pm Monday through Friday or be purchased at the following locations: American Legion Post # 9; The Bottle Shop; Cork-N-Bottle; CVS Pharmacy – Hilltop & Hanover; Fillin’ Station Liquors; Hanover Liquor Store; Kroger; Madison Area Convention & Visitors Bureau; all MainSource Bank locations; Northside Liquors, Riverside Produce in Milton; River Valley Financial Bank, and all River Valley Financial Bank branch locations Hanover. Service clubs selling wristbands are the Moose Family Center, Rotary Club, and Lions Club.

It's shaping up to be a comprehensive weekend of events for the the Evansville unlimited hydroplane race weekend. In addition to boat racing, Rib America, Classic Car Show, and nationally-known country and rock concerts will make it a full weekend of entertainment - all for less than price of a couple of nights out at the movies.

Muscatel on boat racing event promotion

Dr. Ken Muscatel: "The idea here... boat racing, just like other forms of sporting entertainment, have to be placed in a full range of attractions."

"Sporting activity is the center of attraction and attention, but there are other things before, during, and after."

"All these pieces make for a comprehensive entertainment experience. At the center, is unlimited hydroplane racing. It's a can't miss situation."

"As a template (for other future sites), this is the way to do it."

Looks like it will be an entire weekend of entertainment for the the Evansville unlimited hydroplane race weekend.

Thunder on the Ohio will feature Rib America as a featured attraction. "Tremendous attraction," said Dr. Ken Muscatel.

Also negotiating for national talent concerts on Friday and Saturday evening concerts in conjunction with the boat races. Though they aren't ready to announce the line-up yet, but one night should be focused on a "national rock" and a "national country" performer, according to Ken Deans. He's heading to Nashville to talk with artist reps to nail down the lineup.

Personal-size coolers will be allowed, but no alcohol or glass can be brought in.

Update on Roger Norman, stepson of Bill Muncey

(Larry) Roeseler will be looking for his 25th overall win in the Baja 500/1000 tandem Saturday while teaming with Roger Norman in a Trophy Truck. Truck owner Norman, who is the stepson of Unlimited Hydroplane legend Bill Muncey, and Roeseler won the overall four-wheel title in the Baja 1000 last November.
