Contingency Plans

|

ABRA, APBA and Detroit Regatta Association have contingency plans in place:

From ABRA: Due to the high winds, all three organizations have agreed to attempt to run two three-lap elimination heats at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

If the high winds persist the event will be ruled an incomplete event and no contest.

The 100th running of the Gold Cup will take place in 2009.

The last time the APBA Gold Cup was ruled ‘no contest’ was at Lake Mead, Nevada in 1960 due to similar wind conditions

I think the T-shirt is now a collector's item. Kind of like the New England Patriots Superbowl XLII champion shirts that were spotted in Central America

There was a hydro testing on Lake Washington last week. Rumor has it that Chip Hanauer was driving it. I don't know if it was the U1 or another boat. Rumors do fly when a hydro hits the water up here. Note Hanauer does drive the old Allied Van lines boat some times. This may be the boat that was seen. Will mark Evens be in a UL at Tricities. Rumors are flying. Tricities should be a real treat this year. Hope to see you there.

Well it was hannauer on lake washington in the boeing sponsored miss 787. The boat is an ellstrom back up boat. I guess chip really wants to get back driving. I guess his bad back must be a whole lot better. Congadulations to Brian Perkins . He beat his sister in Montana. Hope there talking to each other. Thats it for now. Whatch this space I hope to Email after each run
